A cover of Robbi Robb's 'In Time', from the motion picture, Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure - released exactly 30 years before the launch of this track.
Featuring the incredible vocal and bass talents of Danny Madigan.
This song means a lot to me. Excellent Adventure was the first movie I remember seeing, and I was obsessed with it. I still am. This song always stood out to me, and is basically the reason I ever wanted to play music. You won't see it in any 'best power-ballads of the '80s' lists, but you should. So when my excellent friend Danny Madigan suggested we collaborate to mark B&T's 30th birthday with our own cover, I jumped at the chance.
I think you'll agree that Danny's commanding powerful vocal delivery more than does the original justice - it's got such gravitas and weight. And I don't mind telling you that I was quite emotional recording the intro solo.
Sorry for waffling on, I hope you enjoy the track. Plus who doesn't like an amazing story of two best friends travelling through space and time, solving the world's problems through their transcendent music? Oh, and I guess Bill and Ted are brilliant too.
Be excellent to each other.
lyrics
No fear, no loss, no tears.
The time, is almost here.
Our dreams will all come true, I promise you,
'Cause I can see for miles,
And miles.
In time we'll be dancing in the streets all night (all night, all night)
In time, yes, everything will be all right (all right, all right).
It'll take time, but we're going far,
You and me, yes I know we are.
In time we'll be dancing in the streets all night.
An incredibly textured, nuanced concept album about man, machine and the fabric of existence. Question reality, as there's no need to question the quality of this sublime release. Alpha Chrome Yayo
'Former Selves' is unapologetically unique and all the better for it - Unwaveringly excellent and not simply recommended, but essential. Alpha Chrome Yayo
